American School Fez Invitational

2019 — Fez, MA

Dear Coaches,

Greetings! American School Fez would like to officially invite you and your team to join us for our annual tournament. If you need to contact me, please use email either myself, Khalid Bourrouk, or Eloise Kappen.

The tournament will begin on Saturday morning and finish Sunday afternoon, January 19th and 20th. Exact times will depend on the number of entries. We recommended that teams from outside Fez arrive the evening before so that we can begin on time Saturday morning. We will offer the following events:  LD, PF, Original Oratory, Informative, Theatrical Interpretation, Poetry, Duo, and Extemp

Theatrical Interpretation:

This event will be a combination of both Dramatic and Humorous Interpretation. The combination was decided because of some schools being interested in DI over HI and vice versa.

Debate Resolutions:

PF: Resolved: The United States federal government should prioritize reducing the federal debt over promoting economic growth.

LD: Resolved: The United States ought not provide military aid to authoritarian regimes.

Our Tournament Fee is 220 DHs/contestant. You may either email your entries using the form enclosed or online at asf.tabroom.com. Registration will close on January 16th. After submission of entries on the 2nd, there will be a Drop Fee of 200 DHs/contestant (the full registration is forfeited). Late entries will be allowed if it is possible, with a fee of 225 DHs/contestant. Participats will be allowed to

Once you have finalized your list of students attending the tournament, it will be necessary to provide a list of names of any parents or family members who will be on campus to watch their child compete. This will need to be sent to me via email ahead of time. Our campus is much more open than previous tournaments so we will be having name badges made for all those coming. This will allow us to ensure that the tournament can continue safely and uninterrupted.

All students not competing in or watching rounds will be required to stay in the cafeteria on the fourth floor. A concession stand will also be present.

All judges and coaches will be provided with free lunch from Outshy (a small restaurant next door). We will be sending out a copy of their menu as soon as possible. Students will either need to order leave campus for lunch or order delivery. For dinner Friday night, we plan to provide food for all at around 7 ad annonce those breaking to elimination rounds.

Thank you,
